Expodium's program has been part of the MaHKU (Utrecht Graduate School of Visual Art and design) curicullum since 2008.
Since 2009 Expodium collaborates with MaHKU on ?EXPOTHESIS?, a series of books investigating the significance of artistic knowledge production in regards to arts and public space. In detail, Expodium and MaHKU invite an expert to work on a thesis relevant to their curiculum and run a series of workshops during and after the making of it. The thesis is then proof edited, published and launched by Expodium.
CLEVER°FRANKE is in charge of the overall design of the EXPOTHESIS series.
In 2012 Expodium and MaHKU will be working on EXPOTHESIS No3 set to be launched by the end of the year.
Politics, Identity and Public Space
Critical reflections in and through the practices of contemporary art
by Mika Hannula
'This book is an act of participatory acrticulation of discussions of politics,
identity and public space that certainly come from somewhere, are manifested currently in various different ways, and which then must keep on keeping on and evolving towards something else. My hope - while activating the social imaginary into acts of social imagination - is to push these things along somewhere, little by little, to shake up that complex bag of issues, and to make us move, to deke and dangle us into yet partly unknown perspectives and balancing acts'

Waking Up From The Nightmare Of Participation
by Markus Miessen and Nina Valerie Kolowratnik
Waking Up from the Nightmare of Participation is an amalgam of thirty-seven contributions that constitute a true space of conflict, questioning, disproving, endorsing and taking further the critical participatory practice suggested in The Nightmare of Participation. It opens up a much wider field of discussion, including the question of the outsider, disciplinarity, democracy, political correctness, institutional critique and more.
Waking Up from the Nightmare of Participation is the epilogue to Miessen?s trilogy on participation.
